Along the Berounka River
Hiking along the Berounka River – with expansive views, tranquil riverside paths, and the songs of birds.
Perfect for longer walks or combined tours with a bicycle or kayak.
Along the way, enjoy a stop at U Jezzu or Bistro v Luhu.
Around Městečko and the Křivoklát Forests
A diverse path through deciduous and coniferous forest, past rocks, ancient beeches, and small streams.
In autumn, the woods here glow in all colors – a paradise for nature photographers.
Along the Berounka River
Start: Roztoky u Křivoklátu | Distance: approx. 25 km (one way) | Difficulty: easy–moderate
The most popular tour in the region: always along the Berounka River all the way to Beroun.
A route with diverse landscapes, picnic spots, small swimming coves, and eateries right on the riverbank.
If you wish, you can take the train back from Beroun – bicycles are allowed.
Křivoklát Castle – Městečko – Křivoklát Forests
Start: Château Novak | Distance: 18 km circular route | Difficulty: medium
This route combines culture and nature: from the house down to Křivoklát Castle, continuing through forests and small villages back to Velká Buková.
A mix of gravel, asphalt, and forest paths – perfect for gravel bikes or trekking bikes.
Velká Buková – Lašovice – Slabce – Skryje
Distance: 35 km | Difficulty: moderate–demanding
A longer day excursion through rural Central Bohemia.
Diverse terrain with ascents, panoramic views, and tranquil villages.
In Skryje, a detour to the small Joachim Barrande Natural History Museum and a coffee by the Berounka is worthwhile.
Family Stroll to Roztoky
Distance: 10 km | Duration: approx. 1 hour | Difficulty: easy
A leisurely route on lightly traveled roads – perfect for families with children.
Along the way: meadows, streams, and in Roztoky u Křivoklátu, a rest stop at the restaurant U Jezzu right by the river.
Helpful Tips
The trails are mostly well-marked (white-red marked).
Recommended maps: mapy.cz or komoot.com.
Helmet recommended, especially on forest paths.
E-bike charging stations in Křivoklát, Roztoky, and Beroun.
